The member of parliament for the Ashanti region’s Subin seat, Eugene Boakye Antwi, has taken issue with former finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta, saying that he shows little regard for the New Patriotic Party’s members of parliament and fellow cabinet ministers.
On August 11, 2024, Eugene, a vocal supporter of the “Ken Must Go” campaign, voiced his worries on the former minister’s behavior while serving in an interview with Oyerepa TV.
Antwi claimed that Ofori-Atta disregarded his coworkers in addition to being careless with his responsibilities.
Ken Ofori-Atta delivered the budget how many times before staying to let us read it? He goes as soon as he’s done reviewing the budget. He never returns. He does the same thing at the cabinet, so I’ve been told. He doesn’t respect others and takes them for granted,” he remarked.
Antwi went on to say that Ofori-Atta routinely left cabinet meetings without reaching a conclusion.
“He seldom stayed until the end of a cabinet meeting. I have proof for everything I’ve said. According to his own coworkers, he only stays for an hour before leaving.”
“Why would I wake up to go and campaign for the party to win power, and someone who is not an MP but uses us for nothing because of his relationship with the president?” he continued. When you consider it, it seems illogical.
