We the Patriotic Youth Advocates of New Patriotic Party [NPP] would like to commend the President of the Republic H. E the President Nana Addo Dankwa AKUFO-ADDO for re-appointing Hon Agyemang MANU, MP for DORMAA Central in his first term as Minister of Health from 2017 to 2021. Hon Agyemang Manu upon assumption as Minister of Health in the AKUFO-ADDO first term is undoubtedly one of the most outstanding Ministers. We entrust that, the capabilities of Hon Agyemang MANU would continue to bring the success the Ministry has chopped in the World Health Organization [WHO] rankings as one of the best Health Ministers in the world in the management of COVID-19 pandemic.
As we congratulate Hon Agyemang MANU on his re-appoint as the Minister of Health and thanking President AKUFO-ADDO, some party people with hidden malicious agenda with reasons best known to them are fabricating unsubstantiated and falsehood propaganda against Hon MANU. It must be placed on records for some party faithful who do not know the contribution of Hon MANU towards the sweet victory we chopped in the 2020 general elections. Firstly, the efforts and the hardworking of the Minister were able to revamp the collapsed National Health Insurance Authority, which owed health facilities from 2014 to 2017. The Minister upon assumption of office in 2017 has recruited more than 90,000 health workers including Doctors, Nurses, Environmental Health Workers, Account clerks, Hospital Administrators among others.
He has further improved and seen to the completion of abandon health facilities including completion of BEKWAI Hospital, TEPA Polyclinic all in ASHANTI Region. The handling and management of the COVID-19 pandemic in Ghana cannot be praised without mentioning the name of the Health Minister. Today if President AKUFO-ADDO is being praised for his outstanding role as the best President in Africa for his management of COVID-19, then Hon Agyemang MANU cannot be left out. His management of COVID-19 has been internationally recognized by the WHO as a member of the WHO Executive Committee, a Member of International body of vaccine [GAVI] Committee and a recommendation from international body partners to re-appoint him for the second term as Health Minister.
We will therefore once again thank His Excellency the President for re-appointing Hon Agyemang Manu without paying attention to self-seeking individuals.
We believed Hon Agyemang MANU would help the NPP government mange the Ministry of Health once again for a second them to the satisfaction of the Ghanaian people.
