NOTICE for TC COMMUNITY: COVID-19

Valley View University, Techiman Campus, Suspends its 2019/2020 Matriculation due to COVID-19

Dear VVU-TC family – Students, Lecturers/Staff

I believe you all have followed the stories around the world. COVID-19 has now been declared a pandemic by World Health Organization (WHO). The situation is serious now.

Here are some excerpts from the Director General’s remarks: “We have therefore made the assessment that COVID-19 can be characterized as a pandemic. Pandemic is not a word to use lightly or carelessly… This is the first pandemic caused by a coronavirus… we have never before seen a pandemic that can be controlled, at the same time… we have called every day for countries to take urgent and aggressive action. We have rung the alarm bell loud and clear.

These are strong statements from WHO. We praise God that VVU-TC IS SAFE, for now. Management shall keep monitoring environments and update you of appropriate actions needed to remain safe. In the meantime, take care of yourselves wherever you are. Consider seriously all suggested precautions; some of which are as follows:
1. Disinfect yourselves frequently.
2. Wash hands frequently and thoroughly.
3. Wash your hands before touching your face or mouth.
4. Maintain hygienic environments.
5. Get enough sunlight.
6. Have routine exercise.
7. Eat well.
8. Drink a lot of water.
9. Avoid cold foods and drinks.
10. Avoid hand-shaking.
11. Avoid hugging.
12. Avoid crowds.
13. Remain isolated as often as possible.
14. etc

Sanitizers and handwashing items will soon be installed around the Campus. Take no chances. Prepare, in case we’re pushed to the extremes. Keep your emergency numbers handy. Be watchful and prudent.

Due to the current world crises (COVID-19), the headship of VVU has suspended the impending Techiman Campus matriculation, slated for Thursday, March 19, 2020. Alternative arrangements and other decisions with regard to protecting us from the virus shall be communicated shortly.

Let’s keep praying for each other. All VVU-TC family members must sail through this pandemic. May the Lord help us so. Amen.

God be with you all.
Peter Agyekum Boateng
Rector, VVU Techiman Campus
