The Northern Regional Nasara Wing of the NPP has held a durbar of chiefs and people of Zongo communities with representation from all 18 constituencies of the Northern Region.
The Durbar which took place at the Kulikuli School in Tamale brought together party folks from across the Northern Region
The Minister for Inner Cities and Zongo Development Dr Mustapha Abdul Hamid who was the special Guest of Honour, speaking at the durbar said the NPP Government under president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has done a lot for Ghanaians in general and people of the Zongos in particular. He mentioned the establishment of the Zongo Ministry, the Zongo Development Fund, scholarships, improvement in sanitation etc.
Speaking to the Voiceless Media on the reason for the Durbar, Alhaji Shamwunah Eliasu , the Northern Regional Nasara Coordinator of the NPP, explained that the programme is aimed at showcasing the Nasara Wing of the party , re-energizing it and inspiring it as well as mobilizing its members to work towards the victory of the NPP in 2020.
Some Ministers of State and other government appointees, MMDCEs Parliamentarians, Parliamentary Candidates as well as Aspiring Parliamentary Candidates. The regional party led by Chairman Mohammed Baantima Samba were present as well as Nasara wings from the rest of the country were at the gathering
The Durbar provided an excellent platform for socialization and fraternization
