Our attention has been drawn to a publication with the caption ” NPP PRIMARIES: NEIP GIFTS TAFO-PANKRONO DELEGATES GHC10K EACH. We want to state categorically that the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme has not promised to gift any individual or a group of persons money in our programme
An official of NEIP was at the Tafo-Pankrono to address delegates about the achievements and Programmes of NEIP and how citizens can take advantage of the programme to expand their businesses.
Our Director of ICT/Media Relations who addressed the delegates about the NEIP programmes, advised them to apply for the next window of the Presidential Support Programme this year as every citizen will.
Nowhere did he promised to gift them GHC10K to vote for a particular candidate as been purported in the news portal.
The NEIP programme beneficiaries are given funds on merits and no favour or priority is given to an individual or a group neither than those with a very innovative business concept.
Those who know the activities of NEIP are aware of the vigorous training and scrutiny before funds are released, it is, therefore, difficult to comprehend the publication which seeks to say NEIP will gift delegate money without due process which has been the hallmark of NEIP.
There were other government agencies like the Metro Mass Company Limited who also took the opportunity to address delegates about their programmes. It is very strange how among these agencies, NEIP was singled out for a smeared campaign.
NEIP, since 2018 has carried out its activities and programmes creditably without any controversy or accusation of bias. We therefore entreat the general public to disregard any negative publication with the contempt it deserves.
Thank you.
Signed
Joseph Osei Oppong Brenya
Director of ICT/Media Relations.
