It seems the bribery scandal in parliament is about to let some designates lose their footing.

According to media reports, the chief whip of the minority in parliament, Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak will reportedly be relinquishing his position.
The reports suggest that his actions might be due to pressure mounting on Mubarak from the National Democratic Congress party.

Mohammed Mubarak, Member of Parliament (MP) for Asawase constituency, is at the center of a bribery scandal where he allegedly gave out monies to the minority to influence their decision on Boakye Agyarko’s approvalMuntaka allegedly doled out this money through the chairman of the appointments committee of Parliament, the New Patriotic Party’s Joe Osei-Owusu.The scandal was birthed when MP for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga, claimed he heard a rumour that the Joseph Owusu offered bribes to some members of the appointments committee.

Alhaji Muntaka has, however, consistently refused the claims that he gave money to the minority while maintaining that he never took money from Mr Osei-Owusu as alleged by Mr Ayariga.
