According to Chairman Ampadu, business captains and small to medium sized enterprises expect the political hierachy to use their expertise and experience to create the necessary enabling environment for business to thrive in the face of inevitable challenges.
He observed that, politicians over the years have adopted the lazy man’s approach which creates challenges instead of opportunities for them to exploit.
Chairman Ampadu made these observations in an interview with Kwaku Owusu Adjei on NYANSAPC (Agootv).
He called on government to as a matter of urgency implement policies that will make spare parts dealers competitive while reducing the cost of doing business.
Chairman Ampadu urged government agencies and stakeholders to be more practical and learn best practices from countries where avenues are created for businesses to have assess credit facilities so as to increase productivity and profitability.
He questioned how business captains in Ghana can compete with colleagues in China who pays between 3%-6% on loan facilities as compared to the local businessman who pays between 36% and 45%.
Despite the abolishment of taxes by the Finance Minister which he describes as commendable, Chairman Ampadu believes a lot needs to be done to ease pressure on them.
