Mama Hogbe 2018 contestant, Elorm Thywill Dzeikpor says her goal to win the beauty pageant is to help her use the crown, banner and the platform to fight the societal canker, poverty.

For Elorm, winning Mama Hobge will be a dream come true “but it not for the reason that most may think”. “The beautiful crown and banner she wears are nice but her mission is much deeper than the surface.”
According to the 2017 Miss International Ghana 1st Runner-up said she sees her community as a “family” and her love for family and community has inspired her to enter into the work of fashion, modelling and pageantry.
Mama Hogbe is a beauty pageant which is one of the major activities during the Anlo Hogbetsotso Festival celebration. The Hogbetsotso Festival is celebrated by the people of Anlo in the Volta Region once every year normally in the first week of November. The Mama Hogbe contest starts with an audition where beautiful ladies from all the 36 Anlo States and beyond file and get auditioned into the contest house. Noble and knowledgeable adjudicators who know much about the Anlo culture scrutinize and groom the contestants until the final event day where they exhibit how best they know their culture, talent, beauty and intelligence through colorful, educative and exciting performances.
Profile of Elorm:
Elorm Thywill Dzeikpor was born on 15th January, 1996. She lived and had her primary and secondary education at Keta at Ola Primary School and Three Town Secondary School respectively. When She turned 19 she decided to follow a career opportunity in Fashion and Modeling and made a move to Accra to have her training in fashion at the BG Institute of Fashion & Design, where she continues to live.
Born into a small Ghanaian family, Elorm learned early that community was the most important part of life. Her love for family and the community as a whole is what inspired her to enter in the world of fashion, modelling and pageantry. To Elorm, the community is like her larger family. And looking at the poor living standards of her community, she quickly realized the best way to help her community was to get involved in on the ground level of education and support. This was the moment when she decided to start her own foundation dubbed “Fashion Against Poverty”.
Elorm captured the title of 1st Runner-up of Miss International Ghana 2017. With her title, she was able to start working on her foundation “Fashion Against Poverty” by visiting and gifting some street kids on the Streets of Accra.
