Watch a livestream of President Akufo-Addo’s maiden State of the Nation Address as he delivers and outline policies to tackle the economic challenges facing the country.
This is in fulfilment of Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution that stipulates that: “The President shall, at the beginning of each session of parliament and before the dissolution of parliament, deliver to parliament a message on the state of the nation.”
His address will present an outlook of the state in various sectors of the economy, as inherited from the previous National Democratic Congress government led by John Mahama.
The President in his campaign message during the 2016 elections made several promises to Ghanaians on how he will tackle the ailing economy by providing one factory in every district, jobs for the youth, one village one dam and the free SHS policy which will be starting this September.
The minority in parliament are anticipating knowing how the President will address the issue of funding free SHS programme without using the heritage fund and how the other projects he said in his campaign message will be rolled out.
