Let Your Presence Be Felt In The Region – Kwabena Frimpong Charges Appointees From Ashanti

 

Mr Kwabena Frimpong, a youth activist has charged persons named as ministers and deputy minister designates from Ashanti to strive to make a mark with the positions they have been pencilled to occupy when they get the nod from Parliament after vetting.

Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper in Kumasi, Mr Frimpong said the very nomination from the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo means he has confidence in them to deliver on the mandate they would be given.

The youth activist reminded the appointees that having been considered by the NPP and the President also indicates that they are to help push the party agenda forward as well as that of the President.

This, he noted should spur them on to discharge their duties to the best of their abilities so that the party and government can boast about them in future.

DEVELOPMENT:
Mr Frimpong stressed that the development of the country will be quicker when the nominees become committed to working hard to develop the communities in the country.

This, he noted, will mean that while working in their respective ministries they should also think about making a good impact on the people in the constituencies and region,they were elected from.

The youth activist posited that they would be remembered by their output while in office.

Mr Frimpong reminded the nominees that Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital became beautiful by the hard work of Dr Richard Anane, a former minister of Roads who was appointed by former President John Agyekum Kufuor build Asafo and Asokwa Interchanges, commencement of Sofoline interchange, various dual carriages roads at the entry points of kumasi were done, community roads saw major facelift, etc, adding that they should emulate his legacy.

LEGACY:
Mr Frimpong said the best legacy these appointees could leave when their mandate expire would be that they led to the transformation of the Ashanti Region.

He particularly charged the deputy minister designate for roads, Hon Mavis Nkansah Boadu to work and lobby for the materialisation of the proposed four road interchanges in Ashanti.

With a blend of both youthful and old members of Parliament from the region in government,  Mr Frimpong said he was hopeful of proper development for Ashanti.

APPEAL:
Meanwhile, the youth activist has appealed to the President to ensure persons from the Ahafo Ano areas in the region get some appointment so that the region can evenly benefit from his second term mandate.

Appointments to persons in these areas, Mr Frimpong said would help fast track the development of the communities under the constituencies such as Ahafo Ano South-West,Ahafo Ano South-East and Ahafo Ano North
