Ms. Henrietta Afia Konadu Aboagye, a Senior Information Officer of the Information Services Department (ISD), has been appointed as the new Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA).
This follows the re-posting of Mr. Godwin Okumah Nyame, also a Senior Information Officer of the ISD, who was the substantive PRO, to the Ashanti Regional Office of the Department.
“I wish to take this opportunity to convey my sincerest gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to all media organizations in the metropolis for making my work a fulfilling one during my eight-and-half years duty as the KMA PRO,” a statement issued by Mr. Okumah Nyame, copied to the media in Kumasi, stated.
“I trust that my successor would be equally accorded the support and cooperation I had from you,” it noted.
Ms. Konadu Aboagye until her appointment was the District Information Officer for Afigya Kwabre South.
The statement expressed gratitude to all the media houses for their cooperation and support “during my stay as the KMA PRO.”
Mr. Okumah Nyame holds a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Political Science from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Commonwealth Executive Masters in Public Administration, also from the KNUST, Bachelor of Arts in Information Studies/Political Science (First Class) from the University of Ghana (UG), Legon.
Additionally, he holds a Diploma in Archives Administration (Distinction) from UG, and a Teacher’s Certificate ‘A’ from the Jasikan Training College.
The out-going PRO served under the Hon. Samuel Sarpong and Hon. Kojo Bonsu’s Administrations, and noted for his strong defence for issues relating to the multi-million dollar Kejetia/Central Market Redevelopment Project, as well as the monumental Kumasi Rattray Park.
Other projects he played no mean instrumental role in their successful execution as the KMA PRO, included Ghana Urban Management Pilot Project, New Agogo Market, Old Tafo Market and Asawasi Market, as well as ‘Keep Kumasi Clean and Green’ Project, being implemented by the current Mayor, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi
