Kennedy Agyapong, a flagbearer candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has responded to some remarks made critical of him by Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Hawa Koomson.
Kennedy Agyapong claims that he played a significant role in Hawa Koomson’s nomination in 2017 for the position of Minister for Special Initiatives.
Agyapong claims that despite his efforts on behalf of other ministers and Hawa Koomson, they have abandoned him.
“He had already completed distributing the seats, and Hawa was left out. We were battling for Alex Markin, to be honest with you, but he had problems. President Akufo-Addo didn’t want to hear his name because they claimed he had committed certain breaches with Agric Bank. Thus, Hawa was the most senior, which is how Hawa Koomson became a minister.
“When I last saw the president, I asked him, ‘Wasn’t I the one who approached you and pushed to establish a Special initiative for Hawa Koomson?'” She ought to go ask now. “I am putting out a challenge to every minister in this area who was appointed without my help or consent,” he declared.
