Kate Gyamfua Condemns Police Brutality on Woman

I write to condemn in no uncertain terms the unfortunate incidence that happened at the Shiashie branch of Midland Savings and Loans Ltd.

Having had the opportunity to watch the video that has since gone viral on social media, I wish to express my disgust at the level of brutality meted at the young woman.

As a country, we cannot allow some police officers to abuse their power by taking the law into their own hands.

Under no circumstance regardless of the level of provocation should a man raise his hands at a woman not to talk about a law enforcement officer.

I add my voice to the call already made by many that the police officer involved in this unfortunate incidence should not be allowed to go unpunished.

As the leader of the women’s wing of the largest political movement of the country, I call on all relevant authorities to take up the issue and make sure that justice is served for Madam Patience Osafo.

I use this medium to call on all Ghanaians especially women to rise and demand justice for Patience Osafo.

In an era where countries always prioritize on giving peace and development for women, we cannot allow such level of inhumane and barbaric act to go unpunished.
