GhanaNewsPage. Com can report that about sixty youth who claim to be members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have defected to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in protest of the President’s failure to name Nkoranza as the capital of the newly created Bono East Region.
The youth at a press conference in Nkoranza said they are no longer interested in being members of the ruling party.
Nkoranza lost out to Techiman as the capital of the region which was carved out of the Brong Ahafo Region.
The youth told the media that the President, Nana Akufo-Addo during the 2016 campaign promised that he will make Nkoranza the capital of the Bono East Region after its creation.
They also cited the failure of the government to pay all the investments of DKM, God is Love and other customers of the defunct financial companies as one of their reasons.
