Spokesperson for the Association of Virgin Pastors, Apostle Job Antwi has joined the train condemning the Pastor Mensah Otabil for the offertory ‘prices’ that emerged during his Greater Works crusade last week.
The annual crusade was held at the Black Star Square, featuring other notable Men of God including Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo. At this year’s edition of the crusade, word of the ‘charges’ for miracles and other gifts of the faithful flooded the social media space.
The church behind the event, International Central Gospel Church was cited as charging in dollars for participants at the event to give in order to receive their miracle.
This revelation did not sit well with sections of the public, including other men of God who condemned the church for charging for miracles. This sparked a national debate about the moral truth behind these offertory values.
Apostle Job Antwi of the Virgin Pastors Association, took a swipe at ICGC and its leader, Pastor Mensah Otabil, stating he should be more focused on preaching the Word rather than extorting Dollars from his congregation.
“I have never taken an offering in my crusade activities. It is wrong for a Ghanaian pastor to take offertory in dollars, if it were me, it would have gone viral on social media. I disagree with pastors and churches doing that. It degrades the Cedi. I don’t accept that…,” he said.
Apostle Anwi further noted that pastors of today have allowed the taste for riches to influence them, instead of preaching the Gospel and doing God’s work.
