I won’t stop begging to kick Mahama out – Akufo-Addo

Ghana’s main opposition leader Nana Akufo-Addo has taken a swipe at President John Dramani Mahama for asking him to stop begging Ghanaians to be president.

According to him, he will continue appealing to Ghanaians to give him the chance to become president so as to give them good leadership and “dignified life”.

Rounding off his campaign of the Upper West region at Tumu on Sunday night, Nana Addo said the much touted experience the president says he has is a bad one hence the need to get him out of office.

“He says that the presidency is not a trial and error, but when you are there and you are not doing a good job you have to be removed,” the former foreign affairs minister told a teeming crowd.

Nana Addo insisted another four years in the hands of Mahama will cost Ghana a great deal hence the need for change.

He added: “The experience that he claims to have is a bad experience. An experience that is costing the people of Ghana. We want to bring that experience to an end on December 7. This is my third attempt at the presidency – 2008, 2012 and I’m here again. I say help me.

The three-time presidential candidate of the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition noted he has the team to transform Ghana.

“I am blessed because inside the NPP we have first class group and we’ll give a first class government. We have the men and women who will bring prosperity to Ghana. The time has come to realise our worth and realise our potential and give a dignified life to our people.”

Nana Addo and Mahama are the frontrunners going into Ghana’s seventh poll under the Fourth Republic. The election is slated for December 7, 2016.
