Pressure groups, religious organizations and political opponents have taken issues with the president over his comments.
This triggered a response from government through Minister of Information; Mustapha Hamid who stressed that government says it has no intention to legalize same-sex relationship.
He told Joy News Monday homosexuality continues to be unacceptable because there is no “cultural orientation” that supports it in Ghana.
But Nii Lante Vandepuye who is also the Member of Parliament for Odododiodoo constituency said he is not surprised about President Akufo-Addo’s position on homosexuality.
This, he explained is because there are people at his backyard engaging in the abominable act.
