Government freezes Dr Samuel Sarpong’s account over GH¢10m State Housing ‘chop chop’

Incontrovertible information available to MyNewsGh. com indicates that the former Managing Director of the State Housing Company (SHC)under the erstwhile Mahama administration, Dr. Samuel Sarpong would face prosecution for misappropriation of public funds during his tenure in office.

Dr Samuel Sarpong during his tenure as Managing Director of the State Housing Company (SHC) was alleged to have misappropriated public funds, to the tune of GH¢10million.

Dr Sarpong was said to have been involved in alleged dubious deals that robbed the state of huge sums of revenue, running into several millions of US Dollars, MyNewsGh.com has gathered

The deals among others include alleged questionable transactions involving the sale of four plush mansions at Labone, an affluent district of the capital, Accra, to his cronies at rates far below the begging price on the housing market.

The mansions valued at about US $600,000 each were sold for around GH¢ 300,000 to cronies of the top managers of the struggling State Housing agency.

The former MD also allegedly masterminded the sale of over an acre of land at the Ring Way Estates valued at over a million US dollars to his friend for a meagre GH¢400, 000.

A credible source revealed that Dr Samuel Sarpong bank accounts have since been freeze by a court as part of investigation processes and would be charged for negligence and causing financial loss to the state soon.

Dr Samuel Sarpong has been reported to the American Embassy on other allegations our sources reveal while a docket to prosecute Dr. Samuel Sarpong has been forwarded to Attorney General’s Department for study.

It is gathered by MyNewsGh.com that he is likely to be the first former government appointee under the Mahama administration to be hauled before the courts next year.
