Government continues to deepen its efforts at including nuclear energy in our generation mix in the medium to long term.

It is for this reason that the Energy Minister, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh met senior officials of the French Electricity and Nuclear Power Company.

Discussions was aimed at partnering with the company; a leading name in the nuclear power space in the context of Ghana’s nuclear power development.

The Minister made the point that Ghana’s energy transition framework which seeks to guarantee our energy security in terms of renewable, nuclear and the availability of natural gas, supports every effort at strengthening our future electricity generation mix.

“We remain committed in our nuclear energy prospects, and I have no doubt that a potential marriage between Ghana and any of its partners will advance this cause fully, as we work collectively to achieve a dependable and sustainable energy to support economic growth” he stated.
