Ghana commits to achieving Universal Health Coverage by 2030

The Director-General of the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Dr. Anthony Nsiah-Asare has disclosed Ghana’s commitment to addressing barriers to health care services to end AIDS epidemic and achieve Universal Health Coverage by 2030.
Universal health care, also called universal health coverage, is a health care system that provides health care and financial protection to all citizens.

Dr Anthony Nsiah-Asare, the Chair of GAC Programme Coordinating Board (PCB) made this known when presenting on Ghana’s agenda for ‘Ending the AIDS epidemic and achieving universal health coverage by 2030 in Africa ‘, at the ongoing 2018 International AIDS Society conference in Amsterdam, which will end on July 27.

“Ghana’s health sector leadership has prioritized partnership for research regarding UHC innovations and best practices towards 90-90-90 and global health security. We seek further partnerships in this regard,” said the Director-General.
Among the issues he presented on are: the AIDS response in West Africa at Cross-Roads, HIV and AIDS situation in Ghana, partnership towards Universal Health Coverage, HIV response, Health financing, CHPS strategy, technology and innovation, and Sustainability.
