The Physician Assistant Students Association of Ghana (PASAG NATIONAL) last Friday conferred special honours on Francis Owusu-Akyaw, a mineral expert and NPP parliamentary hopeful for Juaben for the role he played in shaping the health group.
In a citation read by Francis Appiah, a former National President of PASAG, the Association said it was honored to have had a true character and a man of virtue in Mr Owusu-Akyaw supporting its operations.
The group recalled the selfless sacrifices the NPP aspirant displayed when he served.
According PASAG, the positive influence of Mr Akyaw made which he continues to make has shaped the group to become unique in its activities and operations.
ACCEPTANCE:
Addressing the gathering after receiving the plaque bearing the citation, Mr Owusu-Akyaw expressed his appreciation to PASAG for the honour done him.
He also commended PASAG members for the work they do, adding that the members provide 70% of health services of the people in Ghana.
Mr Akyaw rallied members of the Association to work their socks out to achieve the SDG goals on health before the year 2030.
This, he noted would be the best legacy they could leave with the people of Ghana when they are able to inculcate into the citizenry the idea of good eating and lifestyles including daily exercise of the body.
“This Association since 1969 when it was formed has proven to be the backbone of Ghana’s health care system and I urge all of us to work to ensure we achieve the SDG goals on health where our people will live healthy lives including the daily exercise of their bodies”, Mr Akyaw rallied members.

HISTORY:
The PASAG awards have been created to reward past and present members as well as distinguished dignitaries whose contributions have helped in shaping the health association.
This year, the Association is billed to recognise about 20 high profile personalities whose influences and contributions on PASAG has made the group a formidable one.
Apart from Mr Francis Owusu-Akyaw, PASAG would also confer honours on Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, Former MP for Asante Akyem North as well as Dr Ayew Afriyie, Effiduase Asokore MP.
Kofi Akpaloo and a former Independent Presidential aspirant Jacob Osei Yeboah (Joy 2012 & 2016) received similar honours.
