Effiduase-Asokore: MP Commissions Maternity Block at Okaikrom


 

 

The affable Member of Parliament for the Effiduase-Asokore Constituency in the Ashanti of Ghana, Dr Nana Ayew Afriye on Sunday, December 15th,2019 commissioned the Maternity block in honour of the former Member of Parliament Hon Grace Coleman.

The building which was commenced by the late Hon Grace Coleman in Okaikrom a town within the constituency around the year 2006 was completed by the Current Member of parliament early this year.

Some dignitaries at the commissioning of the maternity block was Hon Nana Ayew Afriye(MP,Effiduase-Asokore),Dr S K Nuamah(MP, Kwadaso Constituency), a rep from Asokore Omanhene, Ohene of Okaikrom, husband of late MP, Mr David Coleman,Constituency Chairman Mr Osei Adiyial, other constituency executives et al.

The new maternity block was named after the late Legislator Mrs Grace Coleman to honour her for the commitment and dedication she had for her constituents.

Written on the plague unveiled by Mr David Coleman the husband of the late Mp was inscribed “In fond memory of the late Mrs Grace Coleman aka Obaa Yaa 1943-2009. Hon MP for Effiduase-Asokore(1997 – 2009). Ambassador to Holland in 1980 to 1982. Deputy Finance Minister 2001 to 2003”.

The representative of the District Director of Health during his speech praises Hon Nana Ayew Afriye as God sent to the District ” Hon Ayew is someone who is accessible, committed, servant- oriented and always ready to stretch his hands of help to everyone. Within this short time in office, he has done a lot for us. Due to his able leadership,the humble MP has procured a brand new pick up for the Health Directorate, it is my prayer he stays in his position for a longer time so that we can transform the health sector. God bless him” he concluded.
