Management of Pentecost Senior High School(PENSEC) in Koforidua and the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) have organized prayer meetings for 734 candidates preparing to write this year’s West Africa Secondary Schools Certificate Examination (WASSCE ).

 

The prayer meeting is part of interventions to adequately prepare the candidates both physically and spiritually for the exams.

Resident Minister of PIWC-KOFORIDUA Pastor Musa Yahaya delivered a sermon with the main text from Deuteronomy 20:1 -4.

 

The outgoing Koforidua Sector Home and Urban Missions Pastor, Pastor Gabriel Owusu Akyaw also led a powerful prayer section for the candidates.

 

Some Pastors and elders from both the church Pentecost and other denominations as well as parents and guardians of the candidates prayed for outstanding academic performance in the WASSCE this year and beyond.

Pastor Musah Yahaya stated that the destiny of a country lies with its students who are the future leaders therefore the a need to imbibe in them the word of God and motivate them for academic exploits.

 

The Headmaster of Pentecost Senior High School, Mr. Atta Gyamfi said Pentecost SHS was ranked 22nd best performed Senior High School in Ghana out of 1200 schools during the 2022 WASSCE.

He said the school presented 758 candidates and recorded an average of 99% passes in all subjects.

 

The Headmaster is hopeful 734 candidates being presented this year will perform better.

 

Some parents who took part in the prayer for the candidates commended the management of Pentecost Senior High School for the program.
