According to the statement, the group has been in mourning for the past few weeks as a result of these death incidents.

The one-week consumption break will encourage its 16.7 million members to take stock of their lives and get checked out by doctors to make sure they are healthy.

According to the statement, “The Drunkards Association, Ghana’s beverage consumers and pub owners, would like to take a consumption break from 10th to 17th November, 2025, to allow our 16.7 million members to take stock of their lives and also use the opportunity to go for medical screening to ensure their well-being.”

In order to encourage members to drink responsibly, the association and its leaders thanked pub owners nationwide who follow its guidelines.

In order to improve members’ visibility when crossing roads at night, the association requested that the government provide reflectors.

Ahead of the Christmas and New Year celebrations, they also advised members to exercise caution and make sure that products have received the Food and Drugs Authority’s approval before consuming them.

In order to guarantee the success of the Better Ghana agenda, the statement also urged members to ask their respective religious leaders to pray for the country, President John Dramani Mahama, and association leaders.
