Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Agyapong has called on former Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko to reject any position that will be given him by the President, Nana Akufo-Addo to serve in his government.
Boakye Agyarko was sacked as the Energy Minister a fortnight ago over his involvement in misleading the President in signing the new AMERI deal agreement. His sack too “immediate effect”.
Agyarko has since served notice that he would come out to publicly defend himself after the dust settle on the matter.
Commenting on his sack on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen on Tuesday as monitored by GhanaNewsPage.Com, Ken Agyapong who had prior to the dismissal of Agyarko claimed some elements within the Akufo-Addo government was scheming for the dismissal of Agyarko urged him to turn down any opportunity to serve in the government again.
According to him, Boakye Agyarko was too fine a gentleman to be sacked from the government.
“It is well because I know President Akufo-Addo is also brilliant but I will advise Boakye Agyarko not to accept any post in government” he stated.
Ken Agyapong added that, Mr. Agyarko can serve Ghana in any capacity but certainly not as a minister.
Asked what Boakye Agyarko was going to do after being sacked by Akufo-Addo from serving as Minister, Ken replied that he was sure he would have lots to do.
“What was he (Boakye Agyarko doing between 2009 and 2016) when we were in opposition? He was surely doing something…,” he said.
