CAF CL: In a thrilling 7 goal match, Asante Kotoko defeats Nigerian team Kwara United.

When Kwara’s defence was unable to clear Albert Amoah’s dangerous cross in the 19th minute, Emmanuel Antwi scored from close range, demonstrating the value of their perseverance.

However, the lead was short-lived. Johnmark Atule smoothly slotted home in the 35th minute to shock the home fans as Kwara United punished Kotoko for his lack of focus.

Nevertheless, Atule scored once more just before halftime to bring the visitors even at 2-2.

After the interval, Kotoko dominated, and two minutes following the resumption, Joseph Ablorh headed in from a corner.

In the 70th minute, Antwi, who was still in control of the midfield, gave Kotoko a penalty kick for his crazy run into the area. Amoah easily converted it to make it 4-2.

Kotoko managed to hold on for a 4-3 victory, but Abdul Karim Zito’s team knows they need to improve their defensive shortcomings if they are to advance in the next return leg in Ilorin.
