Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minority Leader, unleashed a vicious attack on the Akufo-Addo government today in a heated session of Parliament, charging it with flagrant underperformance and with not delivering on its pledges to transform Ghana in the first 18 months of its tenure.
In the debate that ensued after President Akufo-Addo’s State of the Nation Address (SONA), Dr. Ato Forson conveyed his deep dissatisfaction with the performance of the government. He declared that the current government would be remembered as the least successful Ghana has ever had.
“Never in the history of Ghana was a government so hyped up, with massive goodwill and huge fiscal space enough to transform our country as this Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government,” Dr. Ato Forson passionately stated.”However, this administration and the NPP rank among the worst in Ghanaian history for performance!”
He attacked Vice President Bawumia and President Akufo-Addo for what he called a “monumental failure” to fulfill their campaign pledges. He cried out, “They promised heaven but delivered hell!” and said that even the ruling NPP party was aware of the administration’s failings.
