The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, has declared the “Agenda 111” proposal to be impractical.
According to him, the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo administration’s project is extremely ambitious and will be challenging to complete.
During a conversation with church members in Accra, Mahama voiced his doubts, pointing out that the government’s plan seems ambitious and unlikely to be finished in a reasonable amount of time.
“This government initiated what they refer to as Agenda 111, beginning with 80 hospitals. Although I’m not sure what poll was conducted prior to the hospitals being built, most of them are nearing completion. It makes sense that they would begin with what they can do and work their way up.
Thus, you begin another hospital if you are able to complete and unlock 40. I doubt that many of the 80 hospitals you spread to would have been finished by the time they left office.
In order to improve the geographic coverage of healthcare in Ghana, President Akufo-Addo promised to build 111 hospitals nationally. This promise is being fulfilled by the New Patriotic Party’s government health strategy, which includes the Agenda 111 project.
