Mrs Opoku [R] takes over from Mr Osei as the acting Director General of GPHA
Acting Director General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), Edward Kofi Osei has been removed from his post by President Nana Akufo-Addo.
Though Mr Osei, who has been acting since June 2018, was asked to hand over his position to General Manager in charge of legal, Mrs Sandra Opoku, by March 3, he complied with the directive on Friday, March 1.
A statement signed by Joana Frances Adda of the GPHA said Mr Osei was relieved of his post because he turned 60 years last year.
Mr Osei was appointed by President Akufo-Addo on June 6, 2018 after the substantive Director General, Paul Asare Ansah, had his appointment terminated.
Who is Sandra Opoku?
Mrs Opoku was employed a lawyer in 2003, and admitted into the international maritime law institute in Malta in 2004 where she studied International Maritime Law
She has held various positions at the GPHA including General Manager in charge of Administration and Legal Manager
