AFCON 2017: Black Stars defender flown to Germany for treatment

Blacks Stars left back, Abdul Baba Rahman has been flown to Germany for treatment after he picked up an injury during Ghana’s Group D match on Tuesday against Uganda in the ongoing AFCON 2017.
Baba Rahman has been diagnosed with bruised meniscus, initial tests have confirmed.

The Schalke 04 man was flown to Libreville early on Wednesday morning to have a scan on his injury.
Following the results, the player was flown to his club in Germany for further tests and treatment.This means the left back continuous participation in the tournament is in doubt.
“Initial diagnosis of Baba Rahman’s injury shows a bruised meniscus. The Schalke man is returning to Gelsenkirchen for further examination,” the club’s official twitter account said.

Symptoms of a bruised meniscus are severe pain and swelling in the knee, buckling of the knee, a popping sensation when walking for long or running, and locking of the knee when attempting to straighten or fully extend the leg.
