A Plus Accuses Attorney General of Bribery and Corruption
Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, the Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, has levelled serious allegations against the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr Dominic Ayine, accusing him of bribery and corruption.

According to A Plus, Dr Ayine allegedly sought GH¢500,000 to bribe the Appointment Committee of Parliament.
The Allegations
A Plus made the accusations in response to Dr Ayine’s rebuttal during a press conference on April 30, 2025, where he denied initial allegations made by A Plus concerning corruption-related matters. A Plus claimed that Dr Ayine had approached him for GH¢500,000, stating that it was needed to bribe the Appointment Committee of Parliament.
Dr Ayine’s Response
Dr Ayine, however, had a different account of the events. He explained that he had not engaged in any corruption but had rather sought campaign funds from a businessman named Mr Sledge. Dr Ayine further elaborated that A Plus had warned him not to do anything silly and threatened to come after him if he did, which he found laughable.
The Basis of the Allegations
According to Dr Ayine, A Plus’s basis for accusing him of corruption and theft was that he had received campaign contributions from a businessman and that he claimed to know the people who donated pickups for his campaign. Dr Ayine countered that if receiving donations for a campaign or getting a pickup for campaign purposes was considered theft or corruption, then there would be 276 thieves in Parliament, including A Plus himself.
Implications of the Allegations
The allegations made by A Plus against Dr Ayine have significant implications for the credibility and integrity of the Attorney General’s office. If true, the allegations would suggest a serious breach of ethics and potentially even the law. On the other hand, if the allegations are false, it could damage A Plus’s reputation and credibility.
The accusations made by A Plus against Dr Ayine have sparked a heated debate, with each side presenting a different version of events. The truth behind the allegations remains to be seen, and it is up to the relevant authorities to investigate and determine the facts. In the meantime, the public will be watching closely to see how this situation unfolds.
