Despite the churches former entrenched position against JDM, which resulted in a humiliated results in 2016 and appreciated results in 2020 elections in Ghana, the said candidate has truly rebranded himself and his party in conduct and in speech, though, politicians can’t be angels.
The church has now realized the true affection of John Dramani Mahamah for the Christendom:
JDM introduced Christian pilgrimage to Jerusalem for Christians with some incentives from the government coffers to leverage the Muslim Meca to pilgrimage.
He initiated the government intervention program of the expansion and refurbishing of mission hospitals and made it a policy that the government should not build any health facility in close proximity to any mission health facility across the country. He said mission hospitals have served their communities for long and the government must therefore appreciate that. It’s will not be prudent to build a better hospital nearby. That will collapse the mission hospitals gradually. A policy that has been ignored and truncated by the Alhaji Muhamadu Bawumia-Nana Addo.
JDM has been consistent in relating to his clergy friends and still winning the hearts of many more, he is patient with them in pleasantry exchanges and photo shoots in his encounter with them, among Muslim he cleverly resort to his tribal heritage, among Christian_ he uses this phrase ‘I am a devout Christian and Staunch AG Member’.
Clergymen who were publicly vocal against his administration in 2016 including: myself, Dr. Otabil, Owusu Bempah, Prof. Martey, Dag Heward-Mills etc. have now realized the truth or his good heart has silenced or won them to his side.
People were shocked, when JDM invited journalists like Abdul Kwaku Barko, Manasse Azure Awuni, Captain Smart and similar anti NDC characters at his marriage anniversary.
JDM’s position on the recent national dragon called ANTI- LGBTQ is unambiguously clear now.
Rt. Hon. Speaker. Allan Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Hon. Samuel George Nartey, Hon. Hannah Bissiw etc. their genuine verhement anti-advocacy toward LGBTQI+ has wooed the clergy and all who subscribe to Christian and family values and the general masses included!
All the Christian Bodies’ counsel: Catholic Bishops’ Conference, Christian Council of Ghana, Ghana Pentecostal Council, Charismatic Council, and all the Christian Denominational Heads and the Independent churches; Alhaji Muhamadu Bawumia-Nana Addo reject will go against Alhaji Bawumia in the upcoming election, said, Catholic Bishops’ Conference.
