DISCIPLES ARE MADE, NOT BORN – METHODIST BISHOP URGES

The Association of Methodist Men’s Fellowship of the Methodist Church Ghana, Effiduase Diocese held its 21st Anniversary Ceremony and 15th Annual General Meeting (AGM) over the weekend, 20th-22nd September, 2019 at Nsuta, Ashanti Region.

The anniversary cum AGM was under the theme, “Go and Make Disciples Of All Nations, Intensifying Our Teaching Ministry Towards Disciple Making; Men’s Fellowship in Perspective”.

Many prominent personalities including but not limited to the Rt. Rev. R.O Eshun, Effiduase Diocesan Bishop of Methodist Church Ghana, graced the occasion.

The Guest Speaker for the anniversary was the Bishop of the Effiduase Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana.

Speaking to Virgin City Radio’s correspondant, Barima Kwasi-Poku, he stressed the need for men of the church to take up the discipleship role very seriously in order to save the dying souls out there in the world. “Men should develop the zeal to be perfect and involve in multiplicating discipleship,” he said.

He further emphasized that Christ should be considered first in everything they do. This, according to him will help them take the necessary decision and actions which will attract people to the Kingdom of God.

He asked members of the Fellowship to avail themselves for the teachings of the word of God in order to be good disciples; for, disciples are made, not born.

In his address, Hon. Kwadwo Banahene Bediako, the District Chief Executive for Sekyere Central encouraged parents to take advantage of the flagship free SHS program introduced by Nana Addo and the NPP government to get their children enlightened and educated.

He took advantage of the opportunity to shed light on many ongoing government programmes within and outside of the district.

He again prayed men of God to extend deep love to their partners and children. “Love your wives and children and through this, the word of God can be spread,”he added.

Very Rev. Maxwell D. Mante, Chaplain of the Effiduase Diocesan Men’s Fellowship, Rev J.K. Mensah, Minister-In-Charge of Nsuta Methodist church, Hon.Ebenezer Afoakwa, Presiding Member of the Sekyere Central District Assembly and other connexional executives of the fellowship were present to grace the occasion.

Awards were presented to various individuals who have helped in diverse ways in advancing the cause of the Fellowship.

Bro.Ing. Benjamin K. Hagan, the Effiduase Diocesan Chairman of the Fellowship thanked all the branches of the Fellowship for making the program a success. He advised members to go back to their various churches and spread the good teachings they have been exposed to.

Funds were raised to support the three adopted churches in the Diocese by the Men’s Fellowship.
They are: Kotei Methodist Church, Gyamase Methodist Church, all of the Ejisu Circuit and Juansa Methodist Church in the Nsuta circuit.
