TARKWA-NSUAEM MP KICKS AGAINST NEW 45O SEATER CHAMBER

Hon. George Mireku Duker, MP for Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency has kicked against the proposed 450 seater Chamber.
Speaking on Badwam on Adom TV this morning, the outspoken and hardworking MP said there is no way he can endorse the 450 seater Chamber whilst the roads in his constituency are in deplorable states and needs urgent attention.

The member of parliament has described the decision as a misplaced priority.

The design for the new edifice was unveiled by the Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Aaron Mike Ocquaye during a courtesy call on him by the architect David Adjaye on Friday.

The new structure is expected to have libraries, a parliamentary museum, prayer areas for MPs of all religions, canteen, interview areas among others.

Construction is expected to commence by the end of 2019.
The current chamber would be turned into a conference hall when the new chamber is built.
