His remarks come in response to the recent discussion that followed the arrest of well-known serial caller Frank Kwaku Appiah, also known as Appiah Stadium.
He is said to have said that President Akufo-Addo smokes “a little.”
Tuesday saw the handcuffed arrest of Appiah Stadium by the Ashanti Regional Police command. He was then taken to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) headquarters in Accra for additional questioning.
His detention sparked a heated discussion among the public, especially the NDC, who claimed that it was illegal.
“In the sake of maintaining the stability of the State, we demand the immediate release of Appiah Stadium from police detention. We offer the Akufo-Addo administration 24 hours to produce Appiah Stadium from police custody or we will use all legal means to free him, the party stated in a statement. “The release of Appiah Stadium from police custody is non-negotiable.
However, Ace Anan Ankumah emphasised in a Facebook post on his page that “what is wrong is wrong. Although Appiah St?diom is incorrect, he has done nothing illegal. No one ought to have been taken into custody or handcuffed. You can ask him to a meeting to address how his actions might affect the peace in the community. Even then, he is under no obligation to accept the invitation. Leave him alone
