NDC SISSALA WEST: SACKS FORMER DCE FOR MISCONDUCT

ROBERT WAVEI BAKA LOST MEMBERSHIP TO NDC

The National Democratic Congress in Sissala West has sacked Former District Chief Executive, Hon. Robert Baga Wavei from the party with immediate effect. The dismissal was confirmed in letter addressed to the former DCE.
In a letter signed by Guguo Adams Ali, Sissala West Constituency Secretary and copied to the Regional and National Chairman, the party alleged that the two time District Chief Executive officer had gone against Article 46, Clause II of the party’s constitution.

According to Mr Ali, Hon Wavei’s membership was withdrawn as result of his involvement in what it he terms as anti party conduct which has done grave damage to the party in the Constituency.
“Your party membership with ID No. A100070152 has been withdrawn as a result of your consistent involvement in anti-party conduct or activities likely to embarrass the party or bring the party into hatred, ridicule or contempt since 2016,” the letter said.

The letter also noted that the former DCE’s constant association and involvement in activities of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) also contributed to his dismissal.
It said, “Your recent involvement in the NPP parliamentary primaries has both demonstrated and deepen your strong loyalty to NPP which necessitated this action.”

The dismissal of the former DCE was reached after investigations and consultations with the Constituency Secretariat and the Silbelle Branch Executive Committee, Constituency Council of Elders and the Regional Secretariat.

Hon Robert Baga Wavei is considered a leading member of the party in the Constituency and the Upper West Region. Thus his alleged association with the NPP could be disastrous to the electoral fortunes of the NDC and that largely explains the decision of the party.

He is a two time District Chief Executive, 1996 to 2000 and again in 2009 but was sacked by late Prof. John Evans Atta Mills in 2011.
