Group members advocating for Francis Addai Nimo at a Press briefing

Ghana Politics News-A vociferous group by name United Chairmen for Ashanti Progress (UCAP) in the Ashanti Region is appealing to the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to consider making the former Mampong Member of Parliament, Francis Addai Nimoh as Minister of State.

They believe the former MP possesses both the credentials and temperament to be a sector minister.

Addressing a press conference late Wednesday at Bantama in Kumasi, spokesperson of the group, Nana Yaw Boakye said the former MP’s inclusion in government as minister among other things would also serve the party’s grass-root supporters well.

This, he stressed is because the former MP even without a ministerial appointment has been taking care of some of the grass-root officers who seem forgotten by party big wigs.

‘’We in the United Chairmen for Ashanti Progress believe the inclusion of Mr Addai Nimoh in government will serve the interest of the party as well as it’s foot-soldiers and grass-root supporters’’, the spokesperson passionately stated.

SUPPORT:

Recounting some acts of goodness by the former MP and flag-bearer aspirant, the spokesperson said Mr Addai Nimoh supports the grass-root members who call on him for assistance.

He noted some of the driver unions in the NPP have since 2016 been falling on Mr Nimoh to take care of themselves and their families.

According to him, known party members in the Ashanti Region continue to flock the residence of the former MP to access funds for their upkeep.

‘’If the former MP still does these benevolent acts for party people despite being in the house can you imagine the kind of support he would advance for the wellbeing of party members’’, the spokesperson quizzed.

APPEAL:

The group, in a tearful sight at the Bantama M/A School where the female folk cried their hearts out appealed to the President to consider the former Kumasi High School product for a ministerial appointment.

They indicated the readiness of the former MP to serve the people of Ghana in whatever field he is made to head as Minister.

‘’We are convinced that the appointment of Mr Nimoh as minister would help the NPP consolidate the gains it made in the 2016 election as well as subsequent polls’’, the spokesperson posited.
