It was a thrillin  g encounter which ended with a scoreline that favoured Krobea Asante Kotoko, Ghana’s best-ever football team.

Kano Pillars of Nigeria who beat the Kotoko lads in their Nigeria backyard by 3 goals to 2 hoped to cause the Ghanaian side an upset.

Kotoko played a beautiful football to the delight of the teeming supporters who had thronged the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

Though a relatively new crop of players, Asante Kotoko played cohesively as they got their passes accurately resulting in the two goals in the match.

The result sends the Kumasi team into the next stage of the competition while the Accra Hearts of Oak-supported Kano Pillars team is eliminated at this stage.

The spirits of old appear to have found its way into these players as they worked like Trojans to beat their Nigerian rivals.

Those who prayed with fervency for Kotoko to lose the match left the park before the final whistle since they could not contain the disgrace of their team’s defeat.

Many of the anti-Kotoko supporters turned off their television sets since they couldn’t contain the sloppy performance of their newfound team, Kano Pillars.

They can argue the toss all they like, Asante Kotoko is the best team Ghana has ever produced! Faaaabbbbuuulllloooooossssss! The Best!!
