It is the wish of every political party to be in power for long as far as possible. The ndc wish they could have stayed in power as a party for at least 12 years but that dream was shattered. The reason for their shattered dream was because the party did not recognise the contributions of their grassroots couple with many Corruption scandals that that hit the party.
By these lapses, NPP won the 2016 general election decisively. Fast forward the party has forgotten of its grassroots which contributed so much to the victory in 2016. Many appointees are no longer interested in the youth that fought hard for the party. Appointees now prefer to serve their families and friends instead of the people who fought for what they are enjoying now. Polling station executives do not know or hear anything about the party again. They are completely neglected. Listening to many of these Polling Stations Executives, one can feel the level of pain and anguish in their hearts due to the neglect.
This has created despondency and apathy among Polling Station executives and the grassroot. The continuous neglect and rejection will not inure to the benefits of the party going forward especially in 2020. This bitter pain of neglect is across the country.
Constituency executives are left on their own. They have no support from appointees and the party at large. Constituency and Regional Executives continue to use their personal resources to go for funerals, weddings, naming ceremonies etc. The national executives and government appointees must empower the constituency and Regional executives to enable them support the grassroot. HE the President will have to caution his appointees not to neglect the foundation of victory.
I am by this appealing to all appointee in the NPP government and the national executives of the party not to forget of the hand that once fed them. Recognition and respect for the grassroot is the only way that will wins us power in 2020. Those in the grassroot are still suffering. We are not feeling the POWER; say the grassroot. We cannot repeat the mistakes of the NDC.
