I’m married; I can cheat – Counselor Lutterodt

Relationship counselor, George Cyril Lutterodt says it is senseless for people who are not married to claim their partners have cheated on them because “cheating is reserved for the married”.

Using himself as an example, the controversial counselor in an interview with GhanaWeb stated that his wife can accuse him of cheating on her if he sleeps with another woman because they are wedded; vice versa.

However, if they were yet to be pronounced husband and wife, no one can accuse the other of cheating should any of them have sex with another person.

“If you are not married, you can’t cheat. If you are not married, you can’t divorce. So those [boys/girls] who go around claiming their boyfriends or girlfriends cheated on them, it is an insane behaviour. You only have legitimate commitment over a woman after marriage. Cheating is reserved for the married. I’m married; I can cheat,” he said.

“If your husband cheats on you, you can’t smile but you have to muster courage that it is part of marriage so that you know what to do. Because definitely, my wife can cheat; I can cheat. But I’m not the one who will cause my wife to cheat. It is not my wife who will cause me to cheat. I cheat because I want to,” he added.

Counselor Lutterodt further indicated that cheating is inevitable.

“Once cheating is reserved for the married, and divorce is reserved for the married, anybody who is married should expect that it will happen. If it has not happened yet, keep thanking God but prepare the room for it so that if it comes, you don’t get worried about it,” he noted.
