I won’t criticise Akufo-Addo in public again – A Plus

Kwame Asare Obeng (A Plus)

Controversial hiplife singer A Plus says he has resolved not to publicly criticise President Akufo-Addo again.

He nonetheless noted he will continue to speak up against policies and programs under the Akufo-Addo government which he believes are not germane to Ghanaians.

Speaking to KOD and Cookie Tee on the Starr Drive Friday, the outspoken musician urged Ghanaians to demand accountability from elected officials.

“ I have decided not to publicly criticize President Akufo-Addo again. But when it comes to policies that I disagree with under his government I will talk about them because that is why we voted for change.

“I have a personal relationship with the President which is different from politics. Politics is one thing and my relationship with him is another so the difference must be appreciated. Nana is a wonderful human being, he is really a nice person,” he said.

A plus also spoke out against the decision by the government to construct a national cathedral noting a church building is not a priority for Ghanaians.

“ Right now we are going to construct a cathedral and I disagree with it. We have infrastructure issues to deal with, our people want water and boreholes need to be constructed yet we are talking about the cathedral. I even disagree with claims that the state is not going to fund the cathedral, why didn’t the NPP build it when they were in opposition? They are doing it now because they are in power, it’s state money that is going to be used”.
