Fans don’t seem to be delighted with the fast-rising Ghanaian rapper Jay Bahd of the Asakaa group’s announcement of a highly awaited collaboration with notorious Reggae Dancehall star Shatta Wale.
Their fan base responded to the song, which was scheduled to be released at midnight, in a variety of ways as they anticipated the upcoming Christmas season.
The song, titled “Gangalia,” was published as anticipated, but Shatta Wale’s line has drawn criticism from fans.
With his catchphrase, “Paaah Paaah Paaah,” Shatta Wale opens the song and establishes the framework for what was thought to be a monster verse.
Then, Jay Bahd takes over and steals the show with a mellow chorus that gives way to enticing rap verses.
The part that hasn’t gone over well with the crowd is when Shatta Wale takes over again as the song goes on.
A few listeners expressed displeasure with the verse by Shatta Wale. Critics claim that even though he began the song in his signature way, this verse falls short of what one would expect from a performer of his caliber.
They claim that Shatta Wale’s verse from Gangalia is the most ridiculous song by any musician of 2023.
