Gyan had announced his retirement from the national team after the coach took a decision to make Andre Ayew the new captain of the side.

Gyan was forced to stage a swift return from his international retirement after Ghana President Nana Akufo-Addo instructed him to rescind his decision.

The former Ghana captain who has now been made the General Captain of the team respected the order of the president and rescinded his decision.

Following his comeback, the Kayserispor striker arranged for a reconciliatory meeting with the gaffer which took place on Tuesday.

Gyan, according to sources at the meeting, pledged his support for the coach and reiterated his desire to support his agenda of winning the AFCON trophy which has eluded Ghana for 37 years.
