Amma ji interrupts Sagar. Ganga is naughty but she loves you (Madhvi) a lot. Madhvi too knows that Ganga loves her Bahu ji a lot. It’s ok. Don’t be tensed about anything. Sagar again tries to say something but Amma ji stops him. Niranjan too tells him not to trouble his mother. Amma ji takes him out. Prabha and her husband too leave. Ganga is still standing near the door. Sagar pulls her outside.
You had decided to keep quiet so how can you talk now? Ganga tells him that her maun vrat is over. He wonders why she dint let him tell anything to his parents. Papa is upset with you. Do you like it when someone scolds you? She cannot tell as Babu had told her to listen to everything that Amma ji says from today onwards. Amma ji had made me swear in my Bappa’s name. I am not supposed to tell anything to anyone. I anyways made a mistake by sharing it with you. You please don’t share it with anyone else. Amma ji has said that everything will be fine if I listen to her. Master ji wont scold me and Babu too will calm down. Don’t you want Babu to talk normally to me again? He leaves from there upset.
Prabha sends her husband outside to start the scooter so she can seek some inside info from Ganga. How come you are supporting Ganga suddenly? Amma ji talks well about Ganga. She is a kid. She needs both love and scolding. She will learn in time. She has started following my every word. Prabha nods. I have understood everything. Maharaj ji brings white cloth. Amma ji had requested for it. Prabha is curious about the cloth but Amma ji dismisses her questions. Prabha leaves. Amma ji calls someone. I had called some stuff for you at home. You can come and take it right away. She asks the maid about Master ji. Maid tells her that he is already waiting for her in her room.
Tiwari ji is sweating as he paces in Amma ji’s room. He gets tensed seeing so many photos of Gods in the room. He folds his hands before the photos and then sits down on the bed worriedly. Amma ji comes there. She knows that he is hurt by Ganga’s behaviour. He says I have been teaching since so long but no one has behaved this badly with me ever. Amma ji hits him on his self respect point. You put it on stake for you must be needing money. You came back here after taking that insult. He nods. She tells him to follow what she says if he wants to continue working here. She calls out for the maid / Maharaj ji to send Ganga in her room.
Niranjan is massaging Madhvi’s head. He is very concerned about her health. I can postpone the date (of court) if you are not feeling well. It is ok if I don’t go today. She is happy that he cares so much for her. He knows that he is not able to show that he cares but he does care. What if something would have happened to you today? She shakes her head. He was all scared to see her writhing in pain. I dint feel normal till I saw that little smile of yours. I was scared that I may lose you. You had to bear so much pain just because of one person’s carelessness! It wouldn’t have aggravated if we would have found out on time. She tells him not to be so angry. Would you have been equally angry if Sagar or Pulkit had made this mistake? He is sure he might have slapped them. I am still lenient with ganga as I know I don’t have that much right on her. I have understood Amma ji’s logic now. one has to be a little strict with kids too. I have given her Ganga’s responsibility. You too should not say anything to her. Amma ji will handle it. Madhvi is worried as Amma ji is really strict. He is sure Amma ji will do the right thing.
Sudha and Pishi Ma come to meet Amma ji. Sudha wants to know she called them suddenly. Amma ji had given us such a big amount of cash a few days back. Amma ji acts all great. She gives them a very big yarn of soft white cloth so the widows from the ashram can get their clothes stitched. Pishi Ma is happy. it will be a lot for us for approximately a year. Sudha knows that Amma ji has called them here for some other reason. this was just an excuse. you could have made Maharaj ji drop it to the ashram. Amma ji says you have become really smart. She takes them to her room.
Master ji lays down all the books before Ganga. I would have taught you this if it was in my hands. But Amma ji runs the house. She has ordered me to teach you Bhagvan Gita and Ramcharitmanas. You must repeat after me. Amma ji, Sudha and Pishi Ma watch them from the door. Amma ji boasts that she is the one who rules this house. You think this little girl can make my son take a stance against me and he will go far from me? Niranjan himself has given me Ganga’s responsibility. I can do whatever I want to. This little girl is clueless about life and scriptures. I have a very soft heart. I could have tried to boss over her but I follow what Lord has taught us. I cannot think of hurting anyone intentionally. You saw who rules Chaturvedi House? Sudha is all mute. Amma ji goes to drop them till the main door.
Ganga is chanting Hanuman Chalisa as she makes preps for their dinner. She recites it again for Amma ji. Amma ji appreciates her for learning things so quick. Ganga asks her if she will share it with Babu now that she listens to everything that you say. Amma ji gives a not so positive answer. She sits down to pray. She remarks (to Lord) that she makes no mistakes in life. Ganga is intrigued.
Do you also make mistakes? Amma ji replies that I try not to but I do make some mistake once in a while. Ganga wonders who points out to her about her mistake. She takes up the responsibility of doing so. Amma ji says no one has a right to boss over me. Amma ji makes her sits down next to her. You will also have to abide by all the rules that are written in the scriptures for widows. Firstly, a widow can only wear white colour clothes. Secondly, you cannot dress up or do make up. Thirdly, you will have to devote yourself to Lord for lifetime. Fourthly, a widow cannot eat anything after sunset. She tells all the other rules to Ganga too.
Next morning, Amma ji and Ganga return from the snan. Amma ji is glad that Ganga wakes up before her and has started following the rules of a widow’s life. Ganga again asks her if she will share it with Babu. Amma ji nods. She is tempted by the yummy snacks (jalebi and kachori) that are cooking at a shop. Ganga can sense it too. Amma ji denies. widows cannot do oily stuff. Ganga wants to know the reason but Amma ji points out that this is written in the scriptures. Ganga asks her lots many questions about the same. are you sure? Is Jalebi specifically mentioned in it? Amma ji is irked by her questions.
Amma ji tells the Maid not to open the door even if Madhvi or Niranjan say anything to her. Ganga will remain locked. Your job will be over otherwise. Maid nods. Amma ji heads upstairs. Maid paces outside the room.
Maharaj ji gives food to all the kids. Call me in case you need anything. Sagar is about to eat but he thinks of Ganga. She cannot eat fried food plus Dadi had taken her away. He picks up his plate and goes to look for Ganga.
Maharaj ji tells Sagar that he cannot meet Ganga today. She will be locked in the room for the entire day. Amma ji has strictly told us not to let anyone meet Ganga. Sagar tries to go inside the room but Maid stops him. He walks away sadly but then notices the water pipe. He gets an idea. He keeps the overflowing end of the pipe on the floor. Maharaj ji asks the Maid to bring Tulsi. She denies as she has been ordered not to move away from outside Amma ji’s room. Maharaj ji begins to go but slips. Maid comes to help him but she too falls down. Sagar makes use of the opportunity. He wakes up Ganga. He takes her upstairs with him. Maid notices it too. I wonder what new problem this girl will create now! Sagar sends Ganga to Niranjan’s room.
Ganga interrupts the chess game. Amma ji is irked with the maid. Ganga wants to talk to him regarding something important. Amma ji tries to take away but Niranjan stops her. it must be something important or Ganga would not have come here like this! Tell me what it is. Ganga says I have come to complaint you about Amma ji. Everyone is taken aback. Niranjan tries to dismiss the topic as he notices the upset look on the face of his brother-in-law. His BIL calls Ganga a servant. You have given this much freedom to your servants that they can complaint against the owner? Amma ji is happy that there is someone in the house who can speak for her. Her son-in-law (SIL) asks her to come with him. I know you are my MIL but I think of you as my mother. I will treat you with respect in my house. Niranjan asks Amma ji if they misbehave with her. Amma ji says a little girl (stranger) is complaining to you against your own mother and you are listening to her. Is this how you respect your mother? Niranjan turns to Ganga. You can speak if you have something else to say. I wont listen to any complaint against my mother. Ganga tries again but he stays put. He reminds her that he has given the responsibility to Amma ji to look after her. Ganga stares at Amma ji before she leaves from there. Madhvi is disturbed.
Ganga sadly thinks of how Niranjan has changed. Sagar asks her if she has told everything to papa. She shares with him what all Babu said to her. Amma ji must have played her cards well which is why he would have thought that I am wrong. What should I do now? Babu wont listen to me. I have no one. Sagar agrees to be with her. You are not alone. Ganga wonders what if he too changes like Babu because of Amma ji’s influence. Sagar gives her a written confirmation that he will always be with her. I will listen to everything that you say. He makes her make a thumb impression of her thumb. He too does the same instead of signing it. He reads it out for her. She is happy to know that everything becomes permanent if you write it down. This is our agreement. Ganga naively says I could have made Babu write down everything too beforehand itself. He would have listened to me then.
Madhvi feels that Niranjan should have listened to Ganga. Maybe Amma ji would have done something with her that was way too strict. She wont complain otherwise. You know Amma ji’s anger. He knows but he also knows that Amma ji was upset over what Ganga did in the lunch time. She would have surely punished Ganga. Madhvi points out that he still dint let Ganga say anything. He had no option as his BIL was also there. It is different to talk personally. I cannot argue with Amma ji before BIL. I don’t like a lot many things about him but I have to respect my mother too. he agrees to hear what Ganga has to say. Send her inside. Madhvi smiles.
Ganga smiles looking at the agreement paper in her hand. Drishti and Pulkit are intrigued but Sagar says it is our secret. Drishti asks them to join them. Amma ji tells the kids to get ready. Your uncle is taking you out for snacks. She agrees to make excuse for them before their parents. Drishti requests Amma ji to join them too. Amma ji agrees. Sagar wants to take Ganga too but Amma ji doesn’t want to upset her SIL again. She goes out of the room. Ganga tells Sagar to go. He nods. Ganga eyes the letter happily.
Ganga goes upstairs to meet Niranjan as Maharaj ji tells her to. He knows that she is upset with Amma ji for always stopping her from doing things her way. I gave your responsibility to Amma ji for your own sake. you weren’t listening to anyone. you were breaking all the rules. I thought Amma ji could teach you everything. Master ji hasn’t complained to me even once since Amma ji has taken charge. She can be all tough / strict on you but she is doing everything for your welfare. It is good for you only if you have started studying because of her strictness. This is ultimately going to benefit you only. You will have to fill this form to give test. She is tensed thinking that she will have to write.
