According to his family, Dr. Mensah passed away on March 27, 2024, at the age of 74, after a brief illness.

Through his inventive work in fiber optics, Dr. Thomas Mensah made significant contributions to the field of telecommunications and paved the way for advancements in digital communication and high-speed internet.

His innovative discoveries revolutionized data transmission and communication methods, enabling faster and more efficient global networking.

Originally from Kumasi, Ghana, Dr. Mensah studied in the United States, graduating from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with a master’s degree in chemical engineering after first getting a bachelor’s degree from the University of Science and Technology in Kumasi.

He obtained a PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Akron, further solidifying his reputation in the scientific community.
