EC boss wants to rig elections – Kennedy Agyapong

Eccentric Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Mr. Kennedy Agyapong, has disclosed that Madam Charlotte Osei, the Electoral Commissioner is working seriously to favour the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the December 7 polls.

“I know that all the sloppy job she is doing is intentional and it is to facilitate rigging for NDC’s interest”, he stated.

The MP said he is now getting to terms with the defence the NDC puts up against anyone who raises issues against the electoral commissioner.

Kennedy Agyapong was speaking to a document intercepted document by the media, suggesting that the Ghana Police Service, in collaboration with the Electoral Commission (EC) has embarked on an exercise to add the names of more Police officers and recruits to the special voters’ list without the knowledge of political parties.

According to him, it is public knowledge that most of the security personnel have been displaced but if there is an action to add them to the special voters it should be discussed with various political parties.

“But if you keep mute over such issues and later documents are intercepted and made bare to the general public, everyone tends to suspect you”, he insisted on Tuesday on Adom TV .

Kennedy Agyapong also accused Madam Charlotte Osei of coaching electoral officers with the aim of introducing an electronic transmission into this year’s elections.

“If it’s a good thing, why don’t you inform every stakeholder but ask your electoral officers not to mention it to anyone”, he pointed out.
