Ebony’s awards to be taken to her graveside – Management reveals

Management of 2018 VGMA “Artiste of the Year”, Ebony Reigns, known in real life as Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, have hinted of taking her awards to her graveside.

Speaking in an interview with Accra-based Onua FM, assistant manager of the late artiste, Allen Kofi Anti, said their outfit was planning on setting a date when they would take the awards to the Osu Cemetery in Accra.

Even though the awards have been handed to the late artiste’s parents, her Management says they were going to take it to the artiste at her graveside as a way of honouring her.

Ebony Reigns picked three awards at the 19th Edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards which was held at the Accra International Conference Center on April 14.

The awards she picked included the ‘Afro-Pop’ song of the Year’, ‘Album of the Year’ and the coveted ‘Artiste of the Year’, setting two records as the first female artiste to win the award and the first to be awarded posthumously.

Ebony died in a gory accident on the Sunyani-Kumasi road while returning to Accra from Sunyani. Her friend, Franky Kuri, and a military officer, Francis Atsu Vondee, who was her body guard also died in the car crash.
