Tension is mounting at Akyem Tweapease, a farming community in the Eastern Region as the indigenes have accused a sub-chief of the community, NtintanHene, Kwadwo Gyapong of aiding illegal mining activities by Chinese in the area.
The teeming youth of Tweapease storm the galamsey site and arrested all the people present including Chinese nationals for destroying their water bodies and vagetations.
Information available indicates that, after the youth sending all the arrested people to Kwabeng Police within Atiwa District, the police have granted all of them bill and back on site again with very tight security to continue their galamsey work so they are pleading with Operation vanguard and stop galamsey team to storm there to stop these Chinese from destroying their forest and water bodies.

The above has led to a misunderstanding between the Queen mother and the Chief because of the galamsey, the remour among the village folks is that, the Queen mother is angry because the Chief stood in and granted bills for the galamseyers.
