As the Mike Oquaye Report Rocks the Elephant Camp, Kennedy Agyapong’s Time Is Over

To find out why the party lost to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), the National Executive Committee of the party started the report. Despite the fact that party leaders have publicly denied the accusations, the leaked pieces depict internal strife, treachery, and leadership rifts.

The dossier, according to several sources, charges Kennedy Agyapong of destabilising the party during the campaign. Former Dome-Kwabenya politician Sarah Adwoa Safo made one of the most outrageous charges, claiming that Agyapong abandoned her while she was expecting his child and supported Professor Mike Oquaye instead, a move she called both politically damaging and personally upsetting.

Adwoa Safo accused the committee of being untrustworthy and biassed, claiming that Oquaye’s selection created a conflict of interest because his family was involved in legislative elections. NPP General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong responded by stating that the report is still confidential, pointing out that there is only one official copy and rejecting the copied passages as fake attempts by political rivals to sow disarray and undermine the party.

The leaked material has sparked intense discussion among party members and political analysts, notwithstanding the party’s denials. To encourage transparency and direct significant adjustments prior to the next election cycle, many NPP members are advocating for the publishing of the entire document. The public is curious as to whether the accusations are the result of political scheming or real party occurrences, and Kennedy Agyapong’s quiet during the scandal has only increased conjecture.
