I am deeply saddened by the news of the passing of one of our greatest mentors and hero, H. E. Busumuru Kofi Annan in Berne, Switzerland in the early hours of today, 18th August, 2018.

I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences to his beloved wife, children, and the rest of his family on this great loss.

H. E. Busumuru Kofi Annan lived a purposeful life on earth. He inspired many, especially the youth across the world. He served GHANA, AFRICA and the WORLD as a globe well. He was a highly reputed international diplomat and a respected former Secretary General of the United Nations, the first person from sub-Saharan Africa to occupy that exalted position. And he rose through the ranks and lived a life worthy of emulation.

Indeed Ghana, Africa and the world have lost a great pillar. May the good Lord grant your gentle soul eternal rest Sir.
